US, Israel and Lebanon Sign Trilateral Framework to Disarm Hezbollah
U.S. Secretary of State announced that the United States, Israel and Lebanon have signed a three‑party framework aimed at ending the long‑standing conflict and dismantling Hezbollah’s armed infrastructure. The agreement outlines a “clear and structured process” for restoring Lebanese sovereignty, disarming Hezbollah and removing terrorist networks, while providing Israel with a pathway to eliminate persistent threats on its northern border. It creates a U.S.–backed three‑nation military coordination group, promises $100 million in humanitarian aid and up to $30 million in U.S. military assistance to bolster Lebanon’s armed forces. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called the deal “a major achievement” and a “blow to Iran,” while Hezbollah’s leader reiterated the group’s refusal to disarm and warned of continued resistance.
The signing follows five rounds of direct and indirect talks mediated by Washington since April, and is presented as the first concrete step toward lasting peace and stable governance in Lebanon and the wider Middle East.
