U.S. Joint Interagency Task Force South Commends Dominican Republic’s Anti‑Narcotics Efforts

The U.S. Joint Interagency Task Force South (JIATFS) formally recognized the government of the Dominican Republic for its “incansable y loable labor” in disrupting and dismantling transnational criminal organizations. In a communication to Vice Admiral José M. Cabrera Ulloa, head of the Dominican National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD), JIATFS Director Rear Admiral Jeffrey K. Randall highlighted the successful operations carried out in April and May, noting a performance exceeding 90 % of the country’s aerial, maritime and land patrol platforms.

Randall praised the integration of joint intelligence, regional cooperation, and a proactive stance against drug‑trafficking threats, describing the coordination among the DNCD, the Navy, the Air Force and Dominican intelligence agencies as a model for hemispheric security. Cabrera Ulloa thanked the U.S. officials and reaffirmed the Dominican Republic’s commitment to deepen cooperation with the United States in the fight against narcotics and organized crime.
