US Justice Dept urged to arrest Israeli security minister Ben‑Gvir upon New York arrival

The human‑rights organization Hind Rjab filed a formal request with the U.S. Department of Justice for an urgent criminal investigation and the immediate arrest of Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben‑Gvir when he arrives in New York next month. The group alleges that Ben‑Gvir has directly incited genocide, ordered torture and mistreatment of Palestinian prisoners since taking office in 2022, actions they say have led to the deaths of dozens of detainees and caused physical and material harm to U.S. citizens.

Hind Rjab’s U.S. representative Jake Rom described the upcoming visit as a test of America’s commitment to international law and urged federal authorities to pursue the case without political immunity, questioning whether the U.S. will prioritize rule of law over strategic ties with Israel.
