U.S. Launches Heavy Strikes on Iran After Missile Attack on American Forces

The United States carried out a new wave of air strikes against Iran‑backed targets after the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps launched a missile attack that it said was aimed at U.S. forces in the region. CENTCOM reported that U.S. air defenses intercepted the missiles, preventing casualties, and that the subsequent strikes hit dozens of locations in Iran and proxy infrastructure in Iraq, with Saudi forces participating. President Donald Trump warned Iran would “get a beating” and described the response as a decisive effort to reduce threats to U.S. troops, commercial shipping and Gulf allies. Iran’s IRGC claimed responsibility for the missile launch and also announced the seizure of three oil tankers it said violated Tehran’s blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.
