US Lawmakers Target Birth Tourism and Non‑Citizen Voter Registration

Senator Marsha Blackburn highlighted two separate citizenship‑related issues facing the United States. In one commentary she described a multibillion‑dollar “birth tourism” industry in which wealthy foreign nationals, particularly from China and Russia, travel to the United States to give birth and secure citizenship for their children. She noted past Justice Department prosecutions, alleged involvement of Chinese officials, and recent state investigations into hospitals offering birthing packages.

In a separate address Blackburn cited President Trump’s claims that large numbers of non‑citizens are registered to vote and that foreign actors have compromised U.S. voter data. She urged Congress to pass the “Save America Act,” which would require photo ID to vote, proof of citizenship to register, and systematic removal of non‑citizens from voter rolls.

Both pieces call for stricter enforcement of immigration and election laws to protect the integrity of U.S. citizenship and voting rights.
