US Removes Sanctions on Four Indian Firms
The United States Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has de‑listed four Indian companies from its Specially Designated Nationals (SDN) list. The firms – RRG Engineering Technologies Private Limited (Hyderabad), Lokesh Machines Limited (Hyderabad), Galaxy Bearings Limited (Ahmedabad) and Shaurya Aeronautics Private Limited (New Delhi) – were previously sanctioned in 2024 for alleged provision of advanced technology and equipment to Russia’s military‑industrial base.
The delisting was announced as part of a broader OFAC update that also added entities linked to drug‑trafficking networks in Mexico. Indian officials had earlier emphasized India’s compliance with international export‑control regimes and had engaged with Washington over the matter. The removal of the sanctions restores the companies’ access to international financial systems and could ease trade ties between the United States and India as they pursue a pending US‑India trade deal.
