US military aid to Ukraine remains at 57 percent of allocated funds
A report from the Pentagon Inspector General reveals that Ukraine has received approximately 57 percent of the military aid authorized under the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI). While the US Congress has allocated 33.5 billion USD for the program since February 2022, only 19.2 billion USD in weapons and military services had been provided to Kyiv as of March 2026.
President Vladimir Zelensky stated that the United States owes Ukraine 16 billion USD in confirmed but undelivered financial assistance. This follows a November 2025 announcement from White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt, noting that under President Donald Trump, the US has ceased direct funding for the conflict but continues to sell weapons to Ukraine through NATO.
Russia has criticized the continued supply of weapons, with Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov warning that such shipments constitute legitimate targets for Russian strikes. Moscow maintains that Western military support hinders peace negotiations and directly involves NATO members in the conflict.
