US offers $100 million+ rewards for CJNG leader Juan Carlos Valencia
The United States announced a package of rewards exceeding $100 million for information leading to the capture of eight leaders of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG). The highest bounty, $25 million, is offered for Juan Carlos Valencia González, known as “El Pelón”, who succeeded Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes (“El Mencho”) after the latter’s death in February 2026. Additional rewards include $15 million each for Audias Flores Silva (“El Jardinero”), Gonzalo Mendoza Gaytán (“El Sapo”) and Julio Alberto Castillo Rodríguez (“El Chorro”), and $10 million each for Ricardo Ruiz Velasco (“El Tripa”), Julio César Montero Pinzón (“El Tarjetas”) and Carlos Andrés Rivera Varela (“La Firma”). Griselda Margarita Arredondo Pinzón carries a $2 million bounty. The Department of State also imposed visa restrictions on 65 relatives or associates of CJNG members, revoking 26 existing visas. Federal charges were filed against five of the eight fugitives, with penalties that could include two consecutive life sentences. The CJNG remains designated as a foreign terrorist organization and a specially designated global terrorist. Historically, the United States has paid more than $200 million in rewards for information on narcotraffickers.
