U.S. recalls 37,000 squishy toys over choking hazard
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued recalls for over 37,000 squishy toys due to significant health and safety risks. The recall involves two specific product lines, Squishy Dumpling Toys and Crazy Squib Ball Toys, which were distributed by ABC Trading.
These toys, which were manufactured in China and sold in the U.S. between April and June, contain water-absorbing beads. If swallowed, these beads can swell inside the digestive tract, potentially causing choking or life-threatening intestinal obstructions. No illnesses or injuries have been reported to date.
Additionally, the CPSC announced a smaller recall of 480 Mochi Malrang Mystery Dumpling toys distributed by LLK Trading in California. Health authorities advise consumers to stop using the affected products immediately and either dispose of them or return them to the retailer for a full refund.
