US sanctions firms supporting Iran's Mahan Air
The U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control announced sanctions on July 30‑31, 2026 against six entities and individuals in India, China, Russia and Iran for providing logistics, financial or commercial support to Iran’s airline Mahan Air, which Washington says serves the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
The designated parties include India‑based Skiez Travels and Logistics Private Limited, which acted as Mahan Air’s general sales agent in India since 2020; China‑based Shanghai Wings International Logistics Co, described as the airline’s general sales agent in China and accused of coordinating the shipment of electronics to Iran; Shanghai Elite International Travel Co, also in China and 50 % owned by its managing director Tang Xin; Russia’s Air Cargo Pro Limited, another general sales agent; and DadeNegar Startup Studio, labeled an IRGC‑affiliated front that collected location data on U.S. and Israeli equipment to aid Iranian targeting.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said those providing financial services, logistics or commercial assistance to the IRGC or Mahan Air are “helping sustain a terrorist enterprise.” The sanctions freeze any U.S.‑based assets of the listed entities and generally prohibit U.S. persons from dealing with them, while exposing foreign firms to secondary‑sanctions risk.
