Marco Rubio's India visit strengthens US Indo‑Pacific focus

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio made his first four‑day visit to India, using the trip to reinforce Quad cooperation and assure Delhi that the Trump administration still views the Indo‑Pacific as a core strategic priority. He met Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar and National Security Adviser Ajit Doval, and attended the Quad foreign ministers’ meeting held in New Delhi – the first time the gathering was hosted outside the United States.

Business leaders welcomed the timing. Dr. Vivek Lal, CEO of Atomic Global Corp, called the visit “very timely” and said it offered a chance for a strategic dialogue and a shared direction. Mukesh Agahi, CEO of the US‑India Strategic Partnership Forum, said the trip highlighted growing U.S. geopolitical focus on the region and noted that Quad initiatives are moving beyond diplomatic symbolism toward economic and security cooperation on maritime security, critical minerals, energy security, supply‑chain resilience and emerging technologies.
