US to resume strategic dialogue with Kosovo after conditions met

The United States State Department announced that the strategic dialogue with Kosovo will be reinstated once Pristina fulfills the agreed conditions, notably its commitments toward the Serbian community in Kosovo. The dialogue had been frozen in September 2025 over concerns about the Kosovar government's actions.

Washington did not give a specific timetable for the restart and said the next step will follow the first round of the U.S.–Serbia strategic dialogue in Washington, which focuses on security, economic and foreign‑policy cooperation. Serbia also formally joined NASA’s Artemis programme during the same period. The United States and the European Union expect Kosovo to implement the agreements reached in the Kosovo‑Serbia talks, including the creation of a Community of Serbian Municipalities, a defined level of self‑government for the Serbian community, and the resolution of disputes with the Serbian Orthodox Church.
