U.S. Wildfire Containment Advances in Oregon and California

Moderate weather and cooler temperatures helped firefighters in Oregon make progress on three wildfires. The Hagen Fire near Tollgate expanded to about 40,000 acres but reached 11% containment, while the Paradise Fire threatened the Walla Walla municipal watershed at 1,318 acres. The nearby Horse Ridge Fire was close to full containment at 95%.

In eastern California, crews pushed the Rock Fire in Inyo County past 12,000 acres to 92% containment and the Cinder Complex Fire to 91% containment. Both incidents approached 98% containment as crews shifted to mop‑up, cold‑trailing hot spots and reinforcing lines amid high heat and wind.

Firefighters continue to monitor conditions, using aircraft as needed, while protecting water supplies and local communities from smoke and potential flare‑ups.
