No. 14 USC Trojans defeated the Fresno State Bulldogs 39-0 in their 2026 season opener at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. USC quarterback Jayden Maiava led the offense with 349 passing yards and three touchdowns, including two connections with freshman Trent Mosley.

USC’s defense, coordinated by Gary Patterson, held Fresno State to just 116 total yards and recorded two safeties. The Bulldogs struggled offensively, managing only 39 rushing yards and 77 passing yards. Fresno State quarterback Jayden Mandal completed 7 of 15 passes for 77 yards and was sacked for two safeties.

With this victory, USC moves to a 2-0 record for the season. The Trojans are scheduled to host Louisiana on September 12.
