USEBEQ implements mobile device regulations in Querétaro schools
The Unit of Basic Education Services in the State of Querétaro (USEBEQ) is coordinating with various institutions to implement the Kuri Law, which regulates the use of mobile devices in schools. General Coordinator Irene Quintanar Mejía stated that efforts to ensure students keep cell phones put away during school activities have been underway for over 18 months.
While a national agreement regarding these devices is set to take effect on November 3, Querétaro has already been implementing local measures to regulate usage during the school day. These actions aim to foster responsibility among students and protect personal property; officials noted that no cell phone losses have been reported in schools under these measures.
The initiative involves collaboration with security institutions, including the Cyber Police, to provide guidance to parents and teachers on device prevention and safe usage.
