USEBEQ institutional activities in Querétaro
Overview
The Unit of Services for Basic Education in the State of Querétaro (USEBEQ) has engaged in various institutional activities. Initially, the organization held a strategic meeting with 240 sector heads, inspectors, and supervisors to establish guidelines and work plans for the 2026-2027 school year.
Following these administrative preparations, USEBEQ organized the tenth edition of the USEBEQ Race 2026. The event drew over 2,200 participants, including students, teaching staff, and administrative personnel, with the goal of promoting physical culture and healthy lifestyle habits within educational communities. General Coordinator Irene Quintanar Mejía officially started the race, which was designed as an inclusive event to foster physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being.
More recently, USEBEQ has moved toward regulatory implementation through the Kuri Law, which governs the use of mobile devices in schools. General Coordinator Irene Quintanar Mejía stated that efforts to ensure students keep cell phones put away during school activities have been underway for over 18 months. While a national agreement regarding these devices is scheduled for November 3, Querétaro has already implemented local measures to regulate usage during the school day. These actions aim to foster student responsibility and protect personal property, with officials noting that no cell phone losses have been reported under these measures. The initiative includes collaboration with security institutions, such as the Cyber Police, to guide parents and teachers on device prevention and safe usage.
