Ushuaia begins construction on new CAAD headquarters

Construction has begun on a new permanent headquarters for the CAAD in Ushuaia. The project marks a decisive stage for the institution, which has long sought its own dedicated facilities.

Yésica Fourastié, president of the Cooperative, stated that while the process will be long and difficult, the sight of machinery working on the site represents the realization of a major dream. The project relies heavily on direct contributions and support from local businesses, merchants, and neighbors.

The current facilities face significant limitations, including lack of space, accessibility issues, and problems with gas and water services. The institution currently serves 180 students with a staff of 70 teachers, and maintains a waiting list due to capacity constraints.
