Ushuaia’s Cerro Martial Opens New Quadruple Chairlift to Expand Year‑Round Tourism

Cerro Martial, the iconic ski centre on the outskirts of Ushuaia, inaugurated a new quadruple chairlift on 19 June. The Bartholet‑engineered lift has 126 seats, a 1,400‑metre route and can move up to 1,450 people per hour. The modern installation aims to enhance the winter experience for residents and tourists and to support a broader year‑round offering that includes trekking, mountain‑bike and other recreational activities.

The resort plans to keep the mountain open daily from 10 am to 5 pm, promoting both ski and non‑snow activities throughout the year and offering discounted rates for local residents of Tierra del Fuego.
