US‑Iran tensions heighten as Israel readies for possible conflict

Israel has lifted its military alert level and announced it is prepared to resume fighting immediately if the United States changes its current stance toward Tehran. Defence Minister Yisrael Katz said, “If Iran launches rockets at Israel, we will attack it with all our might,” while Chief of Staff Iyar Zamir added that the army is monitoring developments in Iran and remains on high readiness.

The United States has reinforced its presence in the region, sending additional ammunition, fuel‑aircraft and jets, including F‑16s from Germany and F‑35s from the United Kingdom. As of 25 June, 98 American military aircraft were stationed in Israel.

Meanwhile President Donald Trump warned that Iran will “pay a price multiplied many times” for terrorist actions in the Strait of Hormuz and for the deaths of U.S. soldiers, pledging intensified strikes and a harsher response to any further attacks.
