Bogotá offers 10,000 free English scholarships

The Bogotá Mayor's Office, through the District Secretariat for Economic Development and in partnership with the Centro Colombo Americano, has launched the third call for the ‘Yes Bogotá’ program. The initiative offers 10,000 free virtual English language scholarships to residents of Bogotá to enhance their employability and professional skills.

The program is designed for adults with a minimum English level of A2, aiming to advance them to the B1 level through 160 hours of training. A total of 2,431 spots have been specifically allocated for residents of Usaquén, Bosa, Engativá, Suba, and Kennedy, supported by local development funds.

Interested applicants must register by August 17, 2026, though the opportunity is subject to the availability of the 10,000 spots. The initiative seeks to reduce economic barriers to language education, providing a competitive advantage in sectors such as technology, tourism, and international trade.
