USP Law School announces student aid expansion and urban revitalization

The University of São Paulo (USP) Law School and its Alumni Association are launching initiatives to mark the bicentennial of legal studies in Brazil. The Alumni Association aims to expand its ‘Adopt a Student’ program, seeking to increase the number of scholarships for socioeconomically vulnerable students from 85 to 200. Each scholarship provides R$ 7.2 thousand annually to assist with essential costs such as food, transportation, and academic materials.

In conjunction with these social efforts, a revitalization project for Largo de São Francisco has been established through an agreement between the USP Law School, the Alumni Association, the Arcadas Foundation, and the São Paulo City Hall. The project, proposed by the Alumni Association, intends to transform the area into a more pedestrian-friendly space by widening sidewalks, reducing vehicle lanes, and adding 1,500 square meters of space featuring new benches and lighting.
