Reports from crew members and families indicate that personnel are facing inadequate meals, such as portions consisting of only half a bowl of rice and two tortillas. Shipboard stores have reportedly run out of soap, deodorant, and toothpaste. Additionally, crew members are dealing with broken toilets, moldy showers lacking hot water, and a lack of laundry services for weeks.

While Fifth Fleet spokesperson Tim Hontz acknowledged the difficult situation, he maintained that the vessel remains fully capable of performing all assigned missions. Representative Sara Jacobs has expressed deep concern regarding the mental health and fatigue of the personnel. Families have called for Pentagon Chief Pete Hegseth to personally investigate the conditions on board.
