The nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln has docked at Laem Chabang port in Thailand after a record-setting deployment of over 250 days at sea. The vessel, which was redirected to the Middle East to support operations against Iran, is carrying approximately 5,000 sailors and Marines.

The arrival provides a five-day period of rest and recuperation (R&R) for the crew near the resort city of Pattaya. Local officials expect the visit to provide a significant economic boost to the region, with some estimates suggesting an influx of approximately 100 million baht. To manage the large number of personnel, Pattaya authorities have increased police patrols, particularly in nightlife and beachfront areas, to prevent illegal activities such as prostitution.

The prolonged deployment has been marked by controversy. Reports from crew members and family members have highlighted deteriorating mental health, low morale, and shortages of essential supplies including food, water, and hygiene products. While the U.S. Navy has acknowledged that working conditions were tough, it has denied the most severe allegations regarding the crew's welfare.
