CHP's Utku Gümrükçü warns of political shifts in İzmir

In İzmir, CHP Provincial Chairman Utku Gümrükçü has expressed strong opposition to the transfer of Foça Mayor Saniye Bora Fıçı to the AKP, warning that such political shifts could lead to losing elections in İzmir. Gümrükçü criticized the YENİ Parti, alleging that the new party was established using stolen CHP materials, including furniture, and noted that in Ödemiş, the CHP organization was left with only two cabinets, a table, and some food items.

Meanwhile, YENİ Parti Istanbul Provincial Chairman Özgür Çelik criticized recent police operations targeting LGBT+ individuals and civil society workers, describing them as a “witch hunt” that targets people's lifestyles and social media presence. He argued these actions create a climate of anxiety and aim to make real societal issues invisible.

Gümrükçü also emphasized efforts to rebuild the CHP from the ground up and conducted courtesy visits to other political parties, such as the Vatan Party and Yeniden Refah Party, to promote dialogue and consensus in İzmir.
