Uttar Pradesh transfers 20 IAS officers, including eight women, in major reshuffle

The Uttar Pradesh government led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced a large‑scale administrative reshuffle late on Thursday, moving 20 Indian Administrative Service officers to new posts. Eight of the transferred officers are women, and several senior officials were reassigned within six months of their previous appointments, prompting discussion in bureaucratic circles.

Key appointments include Sudha Verma, moved from Revenue Secretary to Labour Commissioner; Dr. Sarika Mohan, shifted from Medical Education Secretary to Director General of the Planning Department; and Neha Sharma, elevated to Director General and Secretary of the Medical Education Department. Additional changes cover culture, child development, rural livelihood, energy, sugarcane, and forest‑environment portfolios, as well as the posting of new Chief Development Officers in multiple districts.

The list also notes the removal of Sandeep Bhagya, previously GST Additional Commissioner for Noida, after alleged misconduct, and his re‑assignment as Managing Director of the Mid‑Zone Electricity Distribution Corporation. The government stated the transfers aim to enhance efficiency and accelerate development initiatives across the state.
