Uttar Pradesh and Japan seek partnership in healthcare and technology

A Japanese delegation visited Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, to foster long-term economic and institutional partnerships across several sectors, including investment, industry, education, tourism, healthcare, MSME, and women's empowerment.

During sectoral sessions held at the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, discussions focused on a healthcare and care economy partnership. Key areas of potential cooperation include medical education, robotics, pharmaceuticals, and the supply of skilled human resources. Officials noted that Uttar Pradesh can provide trained doctors, pharmacists, nursing staff, and medical technicians to meet Japanese demand, with potential training in Japanese language and work culture.

Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak highlighted the state's improved infrastructure and growing medical education capacity, noting that medical colleges in the state have increased from 47 to over 83. Additionally, the state is working with Japanese cooperation to explore new possibilities in robotics technology.
