Uttar Pradesh floods affect 23 districts and cause multiple deaths
Severe flooding and heavy rainfall have impacted at least 23 districts across Uttar Pradesh, leading to multiple fatalities and large-scale evacuations. At least three deaths have been confirmed in rain-related incidents, including the collapse of structures in Pratapgarh and Amroha.
Emergency response efforts have seen the deployment of approximately 1,500 boats and motorboats, along with over 1,000 medical teams to assist affected populations. More than 16,000 people have been evacuated to relief shelters across the region.
Major rivers are causing significant disruption. In Ballia, the Ganga has affected roughly 20,000 people, while in Chitrakoot, the Mandakini river rose four metres above the danger mark.
