Uttar Pradesh Cabinet approves 22 proposals including expressways and healthcare
The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has approved 22 major proposals aimed at infrastructure development, healthcare, and economic growth. A significant portion of the decisions involves a ₹17,542 crore plan to develop four link expressways—the Farrukhabad, Jhansi, Jewar, and an Agra-Lucknow to Purvanchal link—spanning approximately 322 km. These projects are to be executed by the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) in EPC mode with a three-year completion target.
In terms of social welfare, the cabinet approved cashless medical treatment for non-teaching staff in secondary and Sanskrit schools, as well as Basic Education Department employees and their dependents. This initiative is expected to benefit approximately 50 lakh people. Additionally, the government approved the establishment of a cyber security operations centre through IIT Kanpur’s C3iHub and the free transfer of 9.524 hectares of land for the expansion of Sainik School in Mainpuri.
To boost the rural economy, the cabinet approved the formation of a State Livestock Mission, offering up to 50% subsidy for cattle rearing and government assistance for 85% of animal insurance premiums. Other decisions include the development of a PRAGATI Robotics Park and the implementation of the state's Global Capability Centre Policy-2024 to encourage foreign direct investment.
