Uttar Pradesh increases Anganwadi worker honorariums and medical benefits

The Uttar Pradesh government, led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has announced significant benefits for approximately 328,000 Anganwadi workers and helpers across the state. Key measures include an increase in monthly honorariums, raising the pay for workers from ₹8,000 to ₹12,000 and for helpers from ₹4,000 to ₹6,000.

In addition to salary increases, the government is providing an annual cashless medical facility of up to ₹5 lakh for workers and their families. To support operational efficiency, smartphones will be distributed to workers. The state has also implemented a saree allowance, with ₹29.11 crore already transferred via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to support the provision of additional clothing.

During a ceremony in Ayodhya, 71,310 newly appointed workers and helpers received their appointment letters. This follows a transparent recruitment process involving 21,804 workers and 49,506 helpers. Parallel distribution ceremonies were held in various districts, including Meerut, to honor new appointees and recognize outstanding supervisors and meritorious students.
