Uttar Pradesh launches AI City and mission in Lucknow under Yogi Adityanath
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s government is positioning Lucknow as a new hub for artificial‑intelligence development. More than 50 IAS officers and senior administrators attended the AI Transformation Conclave 2026 in Lucknow, where Dr. Subi Chaturvedi highlighted the city’s emerging role in AI innovation and noted the involvement of firms such as InMobi in deep‑tech operations.
The state approved India’s first AI City in Lucknow’s Vrindavan Yojana, allocating ₹368 crore for its development, and earmarked an additional ₹225 crore for the Uttar Pradesh AI Mission. Officials, including Manoj Kumar Singh of the State Transformation Commission and IT Secretary Alok Kumar, said the initiatives aim to make the state a national model for AI‑enabled governance and to support its goal of becoming a trillion‑dollar economy. The programme emphasizes ethical, accountable and human‑centric AI, with the NIHIT platform coordinating knowledge sharing between Indian and U.S. partners.
