Uttar Pradesh shifts 182 PCS officers in massive administrative reshuffle
The Yogi Adityanath‑led Uttar Pradesh government issued a night‑time order transferring 182 Provincial Civil Service (PCS) officers to new postings. The reshuffle, the largest in the state in recent years, includes 54 women officers and affects a broad range of posts, notably the Sub‑Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) of many districts. Key assignments include Surbhi Sharma moving from Kanpur Dehat to become SDM of Baghpat, Pushpendra Patel from Ghazipur to Ambedkar Nagar, Shubham Yadav from Unnao to Bulandshahr, and several officers shifted to or from districts such as Bareilly, Barabanki, Farrukhabad, and the newly created OSD role for Lavleet Kaur at Greater Noida Authority. In Fatehpur district three SDMs were changed and a new officer posted. The government said the transfers aim to enhance administrative efficiency, accelerate implementation of schemes and strengthen law‑and‑order monitoring. Earlier this year a smaller move of 18 PCS officers had been announced, underscoring the administration’s ongoing re‑organisation drive.
