Uttar Pradesh opposition leaders denounce BJP governance and law‑and‑order record

Bharatiya Janata Party chief minister Yogi Adityanath addressed a public meeting in Ambedkar Nagar, accusing the previous Samajwadi Party administration of widespread nepotism, lawlessness and “uncle‑nephew” looting. He claimed that during the SP rule, jobs were not awarded on merit, frequent riots occurred in major cities and the party’s cadres controlled police stations and local offices. Adityanath highlighted the current government's supplementary budget of 59,000 crore rupees for development projects and social welfare.

Samajwadi Party national president and former chief minister Akhilesh Yadav responded by attacking the BJP government, saying that people of every caste and class in Uttar Pradesh are suffering under its rule. He cited deteriorating law‑and‑order, the high‑profile Bickru case and controversies surrounding religious leader Avimukteshwaranand as evidence of the government's failure to deliver justice and security. Both leaders used the rhetoric ahead of upcoming state elections, intensifying the political battle over governance, development and public safety in Uttar Pradesh.
