Uttar Pradesh political parties prepare strategies for 2027 elections

Political maneuvering for the 2027 Uttar Pradesh assembly elections has intensified as major parties begin organizing their strategies. Discussions regarding a potential seat-sharing formula between the Samajwadi Party (SP) and the Indian National Congress suggest the SP could contest approximately 328 seats, while offering around 75 seats to the Congress. Notably, reports indicate that the SP may maintain significant influence over candidate selection even on seats allocated to the Congress.

Simultaneously, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is focusing on its ‘Seva Sankalp’ campaign, utilizing workshops to communicate government achievements to voters. The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has indicated it intends to contest the elections independently, with leadership focusing on strengthening organizational finances and district-level management. While the SP prioritizes voter list updates and engaging new voters, the BJP is leveraging the milestone of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years in public life to bolster voter contact.
