Uttar Pradesh reshuffles 18 IPS officers in major police overhaul

The Uttar Pradesh government has implemented a major administrative reshuffle, transferring 18 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers across various critical operational units. This move follows a larger bureaucratic overhaul involving dozens of IPS and IAS officers earlier in the month.

The reassignments affect several specialized wings, including the Special Security Force (SSF), Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC), Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), and regional intelligence units. Key appointments include Dr. Satish Kumar as Commandant of the 1st Battalion SSF in Lucknow, and Preetibala Gupta as SP of the ATS in Lucknow. Other significant shifts involve the Economic Offences Wing (EOW), CID, and intelligence branches in cities such as Ayodhya, Sitapur, and Bareilly. These changes are occurring ahead of the upcoming state assembly elections.
