Uttar Pradesh TET 2026 begins with exam day guidelines for candidates
The Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UP TET) for 2026 started on 2 July and will run through 4 July. The exam is being held in two shifts—first shift from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and second shift from 2:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.—across 955 centers in 60 districts of the state.
Around 1.6 million candidates, including more than 1 lakh serving teachers and over 1 lakh registrants from other states, are expected to sit the test. Candidates must arrive at least 30‑60 minutes early; the gate closes 45 minutes before each shift. Required items are the printed admit card, a valid photo ID (Aadhaar, PAN, voter ID, etc.), three passport‑size photos, a transparent water bottle (if allowed) and a black ball‑point pen. Prohibited items include mobile phones, smart watches, calculators, digital watches, earphones, books, notes, metal jewellery and any other electronic devices.
Examination officials have emphasized strict security checks and adherence to the timing rules to ensure a smooth conduct of the statewide entrance exam.
