Uttarakhand Char Dham Pilgrimage Crowd Swells, Officials Urge Monsoon Prep
The Char Dham Yatra in Uttarakhand is seeing a sharp rise in pilgrim numbers, with 1,050,670 devotees having visited Kedarnath Dham and 832,903 paying obeisance at Badrinath Dham so far. The surge has led to long queues and crowding at both shrines.
The Badrinath‑Kedarnath Tourism Committee (BKTC) has advised travelers to complete advance registration, secure accommodation, carry warm clothing and monitor weather conditions as the monsoon season approaches. BKTC chief Sohan Singh highlighted the one‑way traffic system in Joshimath and urged pilgrims to be prepared for possible inconveniences caused by the high visitor volume.
