Uttarakhand CISF conducts mock drill for flood and cloudburst disaster response

On 1 June 2026, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) carried out a coordinated mock drill in Tapowan, Uttarakhand. The exercise involved the Indian Territorial Buffer Police, NDRF, SDRF, state fire services, local police, B_R_O, NTPC, IB, CIA, the SDM office, HCC and medical teams. Participants practiced rescue operations for cloudburst and flood scenarios, following a pre‑planned framework that was strictly adhered to throughout the drill.

Organisers said the drill was successful and will help assess the efficiency of security and rescue personnel, identify any procedural gaps and improve readiness for future natural disasters in the flood‑prone state.

The simulation aimed to strengthen inter‑agency coordination and evaluate the existing response capabilities of the security forces, with corrective actions to be taken based on the findings.
