Uttarakhand CM Approves Rs 495 crore for 2027 Kumbh Mela Preparations

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami gave financial and administrative approval for a Rs 495 crore package to ready the 2027 Kumbh Mela. The funding also covers construction and reconstruction of external and internal roads across multiple districts, beautification projects, and development work by urban local bodies and district panchayats.

The chief minister also sanctioned a Dearness Allowance hike for state government employees and staff of autonomous bodies, renamed two roads in the Ranikhet constituency, and inaugurated flood‑protection works in Champawat district. The flood projects total over Rs 65 crore, including a Rs 60.21 crore embankment along the Sharda River from Boom to Tanakpur and a Rs 5.74 crore protective wall on the Huddi River for the village of Chhinigoth.

The approvals were announced during a traditional welcome ceremony that featured customary rituals and a Chholiya dance performance.
