Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami Orders Statewide Alert Amid Monsoon Rains

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami directed the chief secretary and disaster‑management secretary to closely monitor heavy rainfall across Uttarakhand, keep relief and rescue teams on standby, and ensure prompt restoration of roads, electricity, water and communications. He also urged residents and visitors to follow IMD advisories, avoid travel to landslide‑prone areas and report emergencies immediately.

In a high‑level meeting, Dhami reviewed monsoon preparedness, the Char Dham pilgrimage and dengue prevention, ordering all district officials to remain on a 24‑hour alert throughout the season. He called for regular field inspections, pre‑positioning of JCBs and other equipment at vulnerable spots, and the use of GPS and modern communication systems to expedite response.

The chief minister emphasized that negligence in public safety would not be tolerated and stressed the safety of the millions of pilgrims undertaking the Char Dham Yatra, linking it to the state's economy and the well‑being of its residents.
