Uttarakhand religious sites undergoing transformation, says CM Dhami
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has announced extensive initiatives to transform the state into a global spiritual destination. Speaking at an event in Haridwar, Dhami highlighted the successful reconstruction of Kedarnath following the 2013 disaster and credited the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the revitalization.
Under the ‘Mandir Mala Mission,’ the state government is focused on the renewal and beautification of various religious sites across the Kedarkhand and Manaskhand regions. Key infrastructure projects currently underway include ropeway systems for Kedarnath and Hemkund Sahib, as well as the development of the Ganga Corridor, Rishikesh Corridor, and the Aastha Path in Haridwar.
Dhami also emphasized the importance of preserving the state's cultural identity, noting that strict actions are being taken against illegal constructions that threaten the local social and cultural environment. Additionally, a Centre of Hindu Studies has been established at Doon University to promote research in religion, culture, and science.
