Uttarakhand weather alert issued for rain and wind through October 11
The India Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for Uttarakhand, predicting changing weather patterns through October 11. Eight districts, including Dehradun, Haridwar, Tehri, Pauri Garhwal, Almora, Nainital, Champawat, and Udham Singh Nagar, are under alert for rain and strong winds reaching speeds of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour.
Following the departure of the monsoon, the activation of a Western Disturbance is expected to bring light to moderate rainfall across most parts of the state over the next five days. Additionally, there is a possibility of snowfall in areas at altitudes of 4,200 meters and above. Authorities have advised travelers and locals to remain cautious, particularly in mountainous regions where weather changes can rapidly impact road conditions and travel safety.
