Uzbekistan and U.S. sign $12 billion in bilateral agreements

Uzbekistan and the United States have signed 54 bilateral agreements totaling 12 billion USD during the second Uzbek-American Business and Investment Forum in Samarkand. The agreements span multiple sectors, including industry, trade, investment, energy, critical minerals, digital technology, agriculture, health, and education.

During his visit to Samarkand for the C5+1 ministerial meeting, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio met with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Foreign Minister Bektiyor Saidov. The discussions focused on strengthening strategic partnerships, expanding economic cooperation, and implementing joint projects. As part of the diplomatic engagement, Uzbekistan officially joined the NASA Artemis Accords, becoming the 77th signatory to the agreement for the peaceful exploration of space.

Rubio, who led a delegation of over 200 American business executives, also participated in discussions regarding regional security, including counter-terrorism and combating illegal migration. In recognition of his role in developing the strategic partnership, President Mirziyoyev awarded Rubio the Order of Distinguished Services.
