V2X technology expands EV utility for home and portable power

New developments in vehicle-to-everything (V2X) technology are expanding the utility of electric vehicles for home and portable power.

Sigenergy offers two distinct charging solutions: a standard AC charger and the SigenStor bidirectional DC charger. The SigenStor system allows solar-generated DC electricity to flow directly to an EV battery without the energy loss associated with AC conversion. Additionally, its bidirectional capability enables vehicle-to-home (V2H) functionality, allowing the car to power a residence or the grid.

Meanwhile, WETOX has introduced the D2 power adapter, which has received V2X certification from SGS. The adapter is designed to provide vehicle-to-load (V2L) capabilities to electric vehicles that lack native bidirectional power, such as various Tesla models and the Ford Mustang Mach-E. The D2 features an IPX5 waterproof rating and is being launched via Kickstarter to serve North American and European markets.
