Vaca Muerta experts to analyze methane emissions in Neuquén

International experts and specialists will gather in Neuquén on September 15 and 16 for the ‘Vaca Muerta Metano Near Zero’ event. The summit aims to address the challenges of measuring, regulating, and reducing methane emissions within the oil and gas industry.

The event will bring together representatives from international organizations, universities, climate groups, operating companies, and technology providers. Discussions will focus on linking the productive experience of the Vaca Muerta basin with global advancements in monitoring and regulation. Key topics include satellite detection tools, leak identification, reporting mechanisms, and concrete mitigation measures.

Organized by the Neuquén government, the program includes a session at the Domuyo Convention Center where companies will present decarbonization experiences. The second day will feature technical training at the Technological Pole for regulators, public teams, and industry professionals, focusing on transforming climate objectives into mandatory reporting and control mechanisms.
