Argentina projected to reach record US$103.7 billion in exports by 2026

Argentina is projected to reach a historic export milestone in 2026, with total sales estimated at US$103,740 million. According to reports from LCG, this represents a US$16,600 million increase over 2025 and surpasses the previous record set in 2022. This growth is expected to drive a trade surplus exceeding US$20,000 million.

The expansion is fueled by four primary sectors: agriculture, energy, mining, and agro-industrial manufacturing. The agricultural sector is expected to contribute significantly, led by a projected 44 million ton maize harvest that could generate an additional US$3,000 million. Soybean oil exports are also forecasted to reach US$8,500 million. In the energy sector, crude oil exports are projected to rise to over US$9,000 million, aided by high international prices. The mining sector is set for rapid growth, with lithium exports expected to jump 154% to approximately US$2,100 million.

In the agro-industrial sector, exports for the first seven months of 2026 reached US$32,507 million, a 15% year-on-year increase, totaling 74.3 million tons. Infrastructure developments, such as the Vaca Muerta Oil Sur project, are also advancing to enhance export capacity for shale oil.

While exports are surging, imports are projected to decline by approximately 3% due to weakened domestic consumption.
