Vacaciones en Paz program hosts Sahrawi children in Spain

The 'Vacaciones en Paz' program continues to facilitate the temporary hosting of Sahrawi children by Spanish families. In the municipality of Cartaya, a farewell ceremony was held to recognize the children who spent the last two months in the area, participating in local activities and cultural exchanges with host families.

Since 2014, approximately 37,500 Sahrawi minors have benefited from this initiative. The program transports children from the Tindouf refugee camps in the Algerian desert to Spain to escape extreme summer temperatures, which can exceed 50 degrees Celsius. Beyond recreation, the program provides essential medical check-ups and nutritional support to address issues such as anemia and food deficiencies common in the camps.
