Vacaciones en Paz Sahrawi refugee program

Overview

The ‘Vacaciones en Paz’ program continues to facilitate summer stays for Sahrawi children from the Tindouf refugee camps in the Algerian desert to escape extreme temperatures. In Cantabria, groups of minors managed by local organizations are departing via Loiu Airport on August 27 and 28.

Organizing entities, including Cantabria por el Sáhara and CEAS-Sáhara, noted that while the solidarity program is vital, it serves as a reminder of the ongoing refugee crisis caused by the occupation of Western Sahara and the pending decolonization process.
