Val di Sole mountain bike championships see Italian medal success

The mountain bike world championships in Val di Sole have seen significant success for Italian athletes. In the women's category, Valentina Corvi secured a gold medal, while Martina Berta earned silver following a competitive sprint finish.

Technical director Mirko Celestino praised the performance of the group, noting that the team's early success in the relay race provided the necessary momentum for these individual achievements. He highlighted the pressure of competing in a home championship and the importance of the support from the local crowd.

In the men's elite category, the high pace set by French riders impacted the field. While Italian riders like Simone remained in leading positions for much of the race, the intense rhythm eventually led to a slowdown in the latter half of the competition.
