PACMA reports Valdepeñas resident for killing 40 community cats

The Animalist Party (PACMA) is filing a formal complaint with the Guardia Civil against a resident of Valdepeñas, Ciudad Real, who claimed in a social media video to have killed approximately 40 community cats. The individual stated that he killed the animals after they entered his property and also claimed to have run over about ten others on nearby roads.

In the video, the man justified his actions by describing cats as predators and argued that anyone wishing to keep them should do so inside their homes. He also directed insults at a local woman responsible for managing cat colonies and criticized the Valdepeñas City Council for allowing the animals to be fed in public areas.

PACMA emphasized that under Law 7/2023, the management of community cats is the responsibility of local administrations, not private individuals. The party noted that intentionally killing protected animals can constitute a criminal offense under the Spanish Penal Code and has called on local authorities to investigate the status of the area's cat colonies.
