Valencia Airport in Venezuela Sets New Passenger Service Fee

The Arturo Michelena International Airport in Valencia, Carabobo state, will charge a new Specialized Passenger Operational Facilitation Service (SEFOP) fee for the use of its facilities. Passengers on domestic flights must pay 5 euros per person, while those traveling on international routes are required to pay 25 euros per person. The amount is billed in bolívares using the official exchange rate at the time of ticket issuance.

The fee is administered by the Autonomous Institute of Airports of Carabobo and is exempt for children under two years, transit passengers, and other cases defined by national transport legislation and international agreements. Authorities note that similar charges exist in other countries, typically included in the airfare, but at Valencia Airport the charge is collected separately as an additional payment for airport services.
